The Pulse - Auditions (Movement)
Sunday, 4 March 2012 from 09:00 to 17:30 (GMT)
Norfolk, United Kingdom
We are looking for fifteen fantastic percussionists and fifteen great physically skilled people to turn their talents into a unique performance to welcome the Olympic Torch to Norwich in July.
The Garage and Norwich and Norfolk Community Arts (NORCA) have been commissioned by Norwich City Council to produce a stunning new stage show. The Pulse will bring together percussion musicians with people from physical disciplines to create a wonderful showcase of Norfolk talent.
So if you think you can turn your skills in sports/circus/gymnastics/martial arts/dancing or percussion/drums/guitar/bass guitar/brass into a performance, we want to hear from you.
You will need to prepare a 2 minute audition piece that showcases your movement or percussion skill. IMPORTANT: Please note that auditions are generally for individuals only, you may audition in a pair if critical to your act but the judges may decide that only one of you is successful, group auditions are not permitted.
From these auditions, sixty performers will be shortlisted to go forward to a ‘bootcamp'. You'll then get your chance to dazzle the Artistic Directors, Aaron and Marcus, before we make the final selection of thirty, who'll go into rehearsals for The Pulse performance in Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich on Wednesday 4 July.
To join in with The Pulse, you'll need to be available on the following dates:
AUDITIONS: Sun 4 Mar: The Garage
BOOTCAMP: Sun 11 Mar: The Garage
REHEARSALS: 15, 29 April / 6, 13, 20, 27 May / 3, 10, 17, 24, 30 June / 1 July
PERFORMANCES: Wed 4 Jul: Olympic Torch Event / Fri 6 or Sat 7 (tbc) : Lord Mayor's Celebration
